President offers reassurance to the families of hostages.
Thousands of people, many dressed in the blue and white of Israel, gathered on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for a “March for Israel” on Tuesday.
One of the organizers of the event said, “It’s imperative that America sends a resounding message of support to our ally that we stand in solidarity with the victims, hostages, and their families, that we reject extreme anti-Israel rhetoric and sentiment, and that we are united around shared values of peace, justice, and freedom.”
President Joe Biden spoke optimistically about the negotiations to secure the release of hostages being held in Gaza by Hamas. White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said nine Americans are believed to be among the hostages.
“I believe it’s going to happen; but I don’t want to get into details,” President Biden said. He added a message for the families of the hostages. “Hang in there,” he said, “We’re coming.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and national security advisor as they seek to free American hostages being held by Hamas.
- For the release of U.S. citizens who are being held captive and for their families.
- For the peace of Jerusalem and wisdom for the leaders of Israel as they seek to stop the terrorism.
